Contact forms

The contact form simply emails me whatever you fill out. Your information is not added to any database. By using the contact form you assume the same risks and limitations as you would by simply sending me an email from your email application to mine. The information is transmitted in the clear, like any email, and is held in my inbox until such time as I delete it, like any email.

This website uses cookies only so far as it needs to to function – i.e. it uses a cookie to remember that you’ve accepted the use of cookies. This website asks for no user information and therefore none is stored. Cookies are left on your computer and can be cleared at any time.

Identifiable markers

We do not collect or store identifiable data. The exception to this is if you try to break through my firewall, and then your ip will be logged and emailed to me. Presumably my webhost ( currently Hawkhost) logs the ip addresses and other details of visitors to it’s servers. Click here to see their privacy policy.

How we protect your data

Anything you send me in a web form is only as protected as any email you’ve sent to any email box you have no control over. You assume the risks. If your ip is logged by my firewall that log is held behind the firewall, but the event is also emailed to me and held in the same email box.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Should my very dry and mostly useless firewall incursion log be stolen my plan is to shrug. Should my email box be breached my plan is to cry, scream, and spend the rest of the weekend drinking whisky and changing my passwords. Rest assured that the chances of me emailing you to tell you about it are about as high as you emailing me to tell me your email box was hacked.
